Chubb Launches Innovative App for Business Travellers

Chubb has launched its new app for business travellers, Chubb Travel Smart. The app provides business travellers with pre-travel eLearning, direct access to medical and security assistance and live location-based alerts to help avoid trouble and stay safe.

“Effective travel management is a critical factor in any company’s ability to exercise the utmost duty of care in providing and maintaining a working environment that is safe and without risk to the health of travelling employees. A recent study showed that 87% of travellers have travel safety concerns, with crime, health and terrorism as the greatest travelling threats. We have developed this tool to help clients pro-actively mitigate their travel risks, and move away from simply being an insurer that pays the claims,” says Luke Powis, A&H Corporate & Affinity Manager at Chubb South Africa.

For risk managers and human resources teams, Chubb Travel Smart provides an online dashboard for an instant and complete summary of travelling employees, including their location and whether they are in any high-risk areas.

The app also provides a handy smartphone app for employees which is integrated with country-specific advice and includes recommended vaccinations, cultural do’s and don’ts and visa/passport requirements, among others.

In addition, it allows travellers to receive messages from their employer by email or SMS directly to their smartphone. This is particularly handy during a crisis situation where fast and reliable communication is essential. However, the most powerful feature of the app is its push notifications that get sent to the traveller’s home screen notifying them of risks near their location.
