East Africa’s premium tourism event and the 9th edition of its kind began today at Kenyatta International Conference Centre in Nairobi.

This three day event hosts over 200 exhibitors and over 150 travel buyers from 25 key source markets including Africa, Asia and South Africa.

According to the Kenya Tourism Board, MKTE presents an opportunity to gather East Africa’s tourism industry leaders from travel buyers, policy leaders to media and travel tech products. Tourism arrivals increased from over 1.4million in 2017 to just over 2 million visitors for 2018. This signifies a dramatic 37% increase.

The theme for this event is “Embracing Innovation for Authentic and Memorable Experiences“. The event will include growth opportunities to boost MICE as an economic driver.
